Flutist Jean Lee is an avid performer and a dedicated educator based in the Chicagoland area. She is a faculty member at Trinity Christian College, Harper College Community Education, Sistema Ravinia, and Bellas Artes School of Music.

She received an Artist Diploma and a Master of Music in Flute Performance and Literature at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign under the instruction of Jonathan Keeble.  At UIUC, she was part of numerous ensembles including the University of Illinois Symphony Orchestra, Illinois Wind Symphony, and Illinois Modern Ensemble. For her Bachelor of Music, she attended Wheaton College in IL, where she studied with Jennie Brown.

She has participated in and garnered performance prizes from numerous competitions, including the Lucile Parish Ward Award from the National Federation of Music Club, the Guy M. Duker Symphonic Band Award from the University of Illinois, the National Flute Association Young Artist Competition, the D&D Instrumental Music Award, and North Park University Performance Competition.

As an educator, Jean has taught privately since 2008, worked as a flute sectional clinician in school district 68, and conducted masterclasses through the Army national guard outreach program as a member of the 144th Army band located in Chicago IL.

Jean grew up in Korea until she was 12, and moved to America where she started learning the flute in a public school band program. Her passion for performing grew since then.
