“Education helps us to pass on what we understand about God’s world to our children and their children. We live in a broken, sinful world, but God has consistently, from the Old Testament through the New, sent us teachers to help us figure out how to try to fix the brokenness.”

Peter Arethas, a true south sider at heart, has been fortunate to teach his all-time favorite subjects. His journey began when he was a student at Indiana University and later pursued an MBA at DePaul University. But what really drew him to Trinity College was the diversity of our student body, coming from all kinds of schools locally and even internationally. It’s this mix of backgrounds that makes our community so unique and strong.

Peter’s love for academia and his passion for economics were sparked during his early college years. Those economics courses at Indiana University inspired him to dive into the world of business. And that was just the beginning of his educational adventure. He’s a lifelong learner, always seeking new knowledge and skills to build a successful career in the business world. His research focuses on how private markets can have a positive impact on local communities.

He firmly believes that understanding the business field is crucial for helping communities thrive. When economic decisions are based on logic, facts, and faith, they can really make a difference in people’s lives.

Beyond teaching, Peter wears another hat as a placement agent for private equity and venture capital firms. He’s the bridge between clients and institutional investors like foundations, endowments, pensions, and family offices. This work keeps him updated on the latest business trends and practices, and he loves sharing this real-world knowledge with his students, giving them valuable insights into the industry.
