Student Learning Outcomes
The Education Program Learning Outcomes (EPLOs) serve as the institutional standards for the education unit. These EPLOs apply to all 12 education programs at Trinity. The academic rigor of the elementary and special education programs are assessed under Outcome #3 by the 6 Key Assessments in the Unit and the Illinois Professional Teaching Standards.
Student teacher interns who have completed Trinity’s teacher education program will be able
- To embody Christ-like servanthood
- To cultivate relational peace, educational equity, and justice in diversity
- To practice excellent teaching that nurtures their students’ knowledge and skills, critical thinking, physical wellbeing, and social and emotional maturity
- To practice faithful professionalism responsive to both the Holy Spirit’s gradual bringing-forth of God’s renewing rule and the State’s Code of Ethics for Educators
Throughout the year assessment data is gathered through senior and alumni surveys, state tests, student teaching evaluations, and content area surveys to determine how well the program is meeting its student learning outcomes.
