Through a degree in communication arts, you will study the foundations of human communication, mass media and society, and the basics of journalism. You will learn communication theory, ethics, and criticism. And you’ll explore persuasive and public speaking.

When you major in communication arts, you will choose a concentration in:

Our program seeks to integrate the concerns of engaged citizenship and biblical faithfulness. We strive to navigate the biblical tension of being in but not of the world. Conversations in and out of class emphasize ways to be both critical and contributive in public life, in the marketplace, and in the worshipping life of various faith communities. A B.A. in business from Trinity allows you to explore your multiple talents and passions. As you major in business, you also pursue a minor in another discipline, such as art (including graphic design or digital design) computer science, English, mathematics, psychology, or Spanish. Your minor can come from any academic program that Trinity offers.
The business core courses will provide you with an introduction to accounting, economics, finance, global business, information technology, management, marketing, and strategic management.
Trinity’s business degree program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), the quality standard for business education.

When you earn a B.S. in marketing from Trinity, you will be prepared to practice creativity in business and strategic decision-making in product and services marketing. Your coursework will encompass marketing management, product management, services marketing, and on-line marketing/social media.
To help discern their gifts and calling in the marketplace, many of our students enhance their project-based coursework with internships in downtown Chicago, including through our Chicago Semester.
After the experiences gained through Chicago Semester, students are even more equipped to lead integrated personal, professional, and public lives. Our Marketing B.S. is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).
Experience diverse learning in a diverse community
With a minor in Black Studies, you will explore the global experience of people of African descent through history, literature, music, politics, psychology, and sociology. A black studies minor will increase your knowledge of black culture and help you better understand the world.
The interdisciplinary nature of the minor will also help you develop the ability to consider the world from multiple perspectives, enhancing your understanding of your major field and better preparing you for a career or graduate studies.
The Black Studies minor is an important part of Trinity’s mission. By increasing your overall knowledge about the diverse peoples of God’s kingdom and their legacy, you will better understand both the brokenness of the world and the possibilities for redemption. Black Studies minor is beneficial to students of any race, ethnicity, or major and may be of particular interest for those considering programs in history, English, social work, or education.

Your love of words and web design can set you on the path to your career. Expert writing, combined with design skills and technological know-how about the web, will open many opportunities: in professional careers, business, non-profit organizations, civic life, and more. The writing and web design B.A. can even be paired with a second major to strengthen your graduating profile.
Trinity’s writing and web design B.A. draws on courses in visual design from the art department, in web technologies from the computer science department, and on writing from the English and communication arts departments. The writing courses focus on professional writing, media writing, journalism, and writing on social issues, as well as poetry and fiction writing.
