An Alumni Oral History Project
The Project
Every Trinity alumnus has a story, and the Trinity Alumni office wants to hear yours. However, with so many alumni, it would take many years to meet with each of you individually. That’s why we’ve decided to embark on a new project to collect the stories of alumni like you in your own words. These stories will be preserved in a book that celebrates the impact Trinity Christian College has had on your lives and who you are today. Every year we don’t capture and preserve these stories feels like another opportunity lost, so we’re excited to get started today!
PCI Partnership
With our limited resources, we’d never be able to tackle a project like this. By partnering with Publishing Concepts, Inc (PCI), we’re able to access their trained staff of real, live human beings who are excited to listen to what you have to share. PCI will also help collect and assemble the stories into a Trinity Memories book that we can share with all Trinity Alumni. Please note, we have only shared your contact information with PCI in conjunction with this project. We have NOT sold your contact information, or otherwise used it for outside marketing purposes.
Have You Moved?
As part of this project, we are also taking this opportunity to help make it easier for you to stay connected to Trinity. PCI will help us collect updated contact information from those of you who may have moved and inadvertently lost touch with your alma mater.
Your Story
So what Trinity Memory will you tell?
- Did a special faculty or staff member have a profound impact on your life?
- Did you find or meet your sweetheart at Trinity?
- Can you trace your career path back to a defining moment at your alma mater?
- Have connections you made on campus turned into lifelong friendships?
- Were you on campus during a historical moment?
- Did your time at Trinity have a direct impact on your faith?
- Do you have a family legacy at this place?
Do I Have to Buy Something?
No. This project is being done at NO COST to Trinity Christian College. The project is completely funded by the alumni who choose to purchase the Trinity Memories book that will be produced at the end of the project. Various book packages will be offered. You are welcome to purchase these items, but you are not required to do so to participate in the project or order the Trinity Memories book. Again, we’d never be able to embark on a project like this without the support of our amazing alumni and the partnership with PCI. We sincerely thank every person that participates and chooses to purchase the book.
What's Next?
Soon you will be receiving email and postcard communications from the PCI team with instructions on how to participate. We’d like to invite you to share one of your stories with us and take part in this first of its kind project to honor the experiences and voices of our alumni.

FAQ
To get answers to frequently asked questions from alumni regarding the Oral History Project, please see below.
It’s legit! We have partnered with PCI (also known as Publishing Concepts) to produce an Oral History Publication for Trinity Christian College. PCI is a family-owned business based in Dallas, TX that has published directories for educational institutions, fraternities, sororities, and military organizations across the nation for almost 100 years. This project allows Trinity Christian College to hear about your personal experiences and explain how Trinity Christian College has helped shape your lives.
We contracted with Publishing Concepts (PCI) to accomplish a few key goals: to update our contact information so that we can stay in touch with all alumni, to help preserve the history of our school, and to offer products that enable alumni to show love and support for our school.
PCI is committed to protecting your information. The names, addresses and information provided to PCI for the publication of the Oral History Project will be held confidential by PCI, except to the extent that they are utilized in, or in the preparation of, the Oral History Project and except as required by court order or law. Upon completion of the project, PCI will redact PII (Personal Identifiable information) from any and all electronic files that we have supplied or were produced by PCI in connection with the production of the Oral History Project.
If you have received a postcard or an email with a telephone number, you may call the number to speak with a dedicated representative for the Oral History Project. The representative will verify all the information we have on file for you, make any updates where needed, then ask you to share your story about your time at Trinity Christian College. Your story will be recorded and the sound clip provided to Trinity Christian College at the conclusion of the project.
If you have received an email with an embedded link, you may go to the online site to review your information and submit a story.
When you call to update your information, you can tell the representative if you prefer any of your information be excluded. You can also communicate your preferences to PCI’s customer service helpdesk at 1-800-982-1590 / customerservice@publishingconcepts.com or to the Alumni Office directly.
The publication we are producing with Publishing Concepts (PCI) takes roughly a year to complete, with the initial 6 months spent contacting all alumni and gathering as many stories as possible. You may call back any time before July 22, 2022 to share your story.
You will receive an email with a link to upload up to two photos (black and white or color) plus captions.
If you have also purchased a book but do not have an email address on file, you will be sent a photo mailer to send physical photos in to be printed (note: photos will be returned if you include a self-addressed, stamped envelope).
The Trinity Christian College Oral History Publication is available for sale only to Trinity Christian College alumni.
The total duration of the Oral History Project is about 12 months. Since we began the project in January 2022, we plan for the books to be distributed in January 2023.
Contact PCI’s customer service helpdesk at 1-800-982-1590 and they will take care of this for you.
In the coming weeks, you will receive an email with a link to your transcribed story so that you may make any additions or deletions before the publication is sent to press.
Upon completion of the data update during each call, there are a number of products offered as part of this program. Our script focuses on the three offerings that resonate with most individuals – a package of all products bundled, a smaller package with a subset of those products, and then just the publication. Sometimes saying “no” more than once can lead to frustration and we are trying to balance that with informing alumni about the options that may appeal to them.
We’re so sorry about your experience. Every call is recorded so we can access your conversation, review adherence to our script, and identify any training opportunities. Please know that we appreciate your participation in this program – it’s vital for us to have an updated database and we wouldn’t be able to do that on our own. Partnering with Publishing Concepts (PCI) enables us to keep our records up-to-date as we focus our resources on our volunteers, benefit programs, events, facilities, etc.
Publishing Concepts is our trusted partner and they are also PCI DSS compliant – in simple terms, that means they are audited several times annually and your data is safe. Your data is used solely for the purpose of the publication program, and removed from their servers once they have relayed any new contact information you provided to us.
As part of an alumni program we are currently conducting, we are updating contact information for as many records as possible in our database. We make a concerted effort to recover “lost” records, which usually have very little information in them. Those lost records are submitted to a data cleansing service, who provides us with an email or physical address that is likely to belong to that record. Sometimes, although it’s rare, the match is incorrect. We use the “match” address for this one specific program to confirm if it is correct, but it is not entered into the designated record in our database unless the individual responds to confirm that the information is correct. We are so sorry for any confusion our communication caused and we will not contact you again.
As part of an alumni program we are currently conducting in conjunction with Publishing Concepts (PCI), we are updating contact information for as many records as possible in our database. We make a concerted effort to recover “lost” records, which usually have very little information in them, as well as to simply gather the most up-to-date information for every alumnus/a. Our records are submitted to a data cleansing service, who provides us with an email or physical address that is likely to belong to each individual. If you have a specific email or physical address at which you prefer to be contacted, we are happy to update our records accordingly. We want to communicate with you in the ways and at the locations you are most comfortable with.
We partnered with Publishing Concepts (PCI) on this program because they are a 100-year-old family-owned business that each year works with hundreds of colleges and universities, high schools, Greek organizations, and military and veteran associations. As part of their process, they update tens of thousands of records each month. We know it sounds surprising, but as a marketing organization they are constantly testing the best communication times and methods to accomplish all the goals set for this program. They have consistently found sending a series of postcards and emails encouraging alumni to contact them by phone to confirm or update our records produces the most updates with the most accuracy. Please take a few moments to participate – the average call is 5-6 minutes, so it doesn’t take long.
