Spring Production of "The Fellowship Hall"

THE FELLOWSHIP HALL, a collection of short plays, including: DREAM BAKE, FIREFALL, THE CROSSROADS, CHASING VICTORY, and THE JEWEL OF OLYMPUS. The Fellowship Hall is a collection of five short plays written by Trinity faculty member Dr. John Sebestyen. Four of the plays were generated during Sebestyen’s recent sabbatical. These four plays are part of a larger group of 28 short plays, all of which were inspired by an alum of Trinity’s Theatre program.

Dr. John asked the alums to send him three photos they’ve taken (or were featured in), as well as three of their current favorite words or phrases. Sebestyen then selected one of the images and one of the phrases to inspire each play.

Dream Bake is about an amateur chef who has a fever dream that she is a contestant on three different cooking game shows. Firefall is about two former college soccer teammates who are on a road trip to Yosemite. The Crossroads is about a young woman who experiences support of her new community in their small-town diner. Chasing Victory is about a young married couple about to embark on a bike ride in a forest. The Jewel of Olympus is a fantastical adventure about a sea-faring captain, and his new clueless sidekick, in search of an elusive treasure.

These plays were inspired by Trinity alums Brooke (Wilson) Aernouts (’08, Dream Bake), Joshua Joachim Moore (’12, Firefall), Alisha Riepma (’12, The Crossroads), Chris DeWaard (’14, Chasing Victory), and current Trinity student Annika Biel in connection with last fall’s 24-Hour Theatre Project (The Jewel of Olympus).
