Students are supported in their diverse interests and career goals through the multiple options to explore contexts, theories, and applications, as well as develop skills in speaking and writing.

If you are called to minister to others, a minor from Trinity will prepare you academically and spiritually. Your studies within Trinity’s Christian ministry program will provide relationships and resources to help you investigate and begin a life in ministry. When you leave Trinity, you will be equipped to serve in leadership, evangelistic ministries, or administration.

Our small class sizes, access to a diverse range of churches and parachurch organizations, and an active campus ministry program provide opportunities for you to learn, grow, and prepare to participate in God’s mission. Through your coursework, you will learn practical approaches to administration and leadership, spiritual formation, worship leadership, and the nature and ministry of the church.

With our location just 25 miles from downtown Chicago, you will also have the opportunity to complete your field education in a range of settings that will give you hands-on, heart-engaged experience.

When you minor in theology at Trinity, you will be challenged with fundamental questions about the Bible, God, Christ, salvation, incarnation, and a host of other topics. All courses emphasize the development of a biblical perspective as an integrating element to learning.

A theology degree from Trinity will prepare you for a vocation in churches, non-profit organizations, schools, and mission agencies or to continue your studies in graduate or seminary school.

With a minor in Spanish from Trinity, you will connect to greater and be equipped to explore careers in advertising, airline service, broadcasting, business, civil service, consulting, customs, diplomacy, foreign service, health services, hospitality industry, journalism, immigration and naturalization, marketing, missionary settings, publishing and editing, sales and customer service, social work, tourism, and others.

The global community needs those in the criminal justice system who are compassionate professionals that apply justice to those accused of breaking laws. And at Trinity, you will also learn about restoration for those who commit crimes, and even greater restitution for crime victims and society in general.

We honor the biblical and social bases of the law enforcement and justice systems. Our faculty also focus on how the criminal justice system is an integral part of other social institutions. We believe that our graduates should be well educated, resolute, just, and seasoned with Christian love.

And since Trinity is located just 25 miles from downtown Chicago, you will be able to apply your knowledge and gain experience in urban communities, courtrooms, and correctional facilities.

Graduates of the criminal justice program are equipped to seek their vocation in local and state police forces; federal law enforcement agencies; peacemaking, community-building, and justice innovation; conventional and alternative punishment systems; reintroducing prisoners into civilian society; and the criminal court system. Our alumni are Chicago Police Department officers, serve in the U.S. military, work in private security, and are employed by federal agencies.

If you have a calling to learn more about how to develop a Christian perspective on the nature of humans, relationships, and institutions, than a minor in sociology from Trinity may be for you. Here, you will study how Christ’s redemption underlies the possibility of social and personal restoration. This perspective will give you a clearer understanding of engagement in social situations and in response to social issues.

The global community needs skilled people with a passion for music in worship. The music department at Trinity will prepare you to be a skilled performer of music, a discriminating listener, and an inspiring leader. If you are called to participate in music ministry at your local church, then this interdisciplinary minor may be for you. Your coursework will emphasize diverse traditions of music in worship from both a theological and musical perspective, with a focus on encouraging and facilitating practical involvement. In addition to your music and theology courses, you will achieve proficiency in either piano or guitar.

Music is a fundamental expression of who we are as humans. The music department at Trinity seeks to teach our students to be skilled performers of music, discriminating listeners, and inspiring leaders and teachers.

Majoring in music may be the right path for you if you wish to pursue a career in music or graduate study outside the realm of education. A music degree will prepare you for a career as a performer, private studio music teacher, music ensemble director, church musician, worship leader, studio musician, arranger, composer, music editor, arts administrator, music librarian, or music journalist, among many other options.

You will intensify your understanding of music through courses in music history, theory, conducting, and through participation in music ensembles. You also have the opportunity to pursue private lessons in voice, piano, and all orchestral instruments. As a Trinity student, you will reap the benefits of learning in Trinity’s Ozinga Chapel, which is equipped with outstanding music resources, including a recital hall, rehearsal space, individual practice rooms, and a music computer lab.
