Why do I love Trinity?
I love the strong sense of community at Trinity. Students will find a supportive community that is really focused on them as a whole, and them succeeding in life and the world after their Trinity experience.

What does life outside of Trinity look like?
Outside of Trinity, I enjoy traveling, trying new restaurants, and visiting with friends and family. I also enjoy going to sporting events. My husband and I are trying to visit every Major League Baseball stadium – we’re a quarter of the way there!

What’s your favorite part of Chicago?
In the summer, one of my favorite places to be is Wrigley Field. Throughout the year, I enjoy attending different festivals in the local parks and shows in the downtown Theatre District.

Dr. Douglas has a deep professional and educational history. He holds a B.A., M.A., and M.Div. from Oral Roberts University. He earned a Ph.D. in Religious Studies from Marquette University, where his research focused on the book of Ecclesiastes. In addition, he holds an MBA in management from Eastern University. For the past 16 years, Dr. Douglas has served at the University of Valley Forge. He has extensive teaching and student mentorship experience as an Associate Professor of Old Testament.

He has served as department chair, as well as in numerous campus leadership roles around multicultural engagement, graduate programs, curricular review, and assessment. His research focuses on Ecclesiastes and on postcolonial approaches to prophetic texts in the Old Testament. For the past six years, Dr. Douglas has served as Vice President of Academic Affairs at UVF. Prior to his time at Valley Forge, Dr. Douglas served congregations in Texas, Oklahoma, and Wisconsin.

“I am excited for the vision of Trinity and the vital role in academic affairs to prepare the students to grow, develop and explore their giftings. This place is a launching pad for their future, for bringing hope to the world and the Trinity community,” said Douglas.

Douglas resonates deeply with the vision of Trinity for the future and is inspired by the keen sense of community that can only be found here, saying, “this vision paired with the deep community connection, really drew me to be a part of Trinity Christian College.”

Why do you love Trinity?
I love Trinity for the opportunity it presented me as a student and now as a staff member. My four years as a student here were the most formative years of my life so far and I would not be the person I am or have the friendships I have if I was not at Trinity. As a staff member I now have a similar opportunity to continue to grow in my faith as well as professionally while also developing even more friendships. All of this can be centered around Christ while at Trinity, and that is the main thing I love about Trinity.

What does life look like outside of Trinity?
My life outside of Trinity involves hanging out with my friends, being deeply involved in my church as well as desiring to do even more ministry alongside my wife with college students. My wife and I love to do projects for things in our house, and we enjoy trying out new recipes. We also deeply enjoy seeing and spending time with our families.

What is your favorite part of Chicago?
My wife and I love to go to Lincoln Park area and try different restaurants and just walk around. The neighborhoods are some of the most beautiful neighborhoods to walk around in. Every time we go to the city, we attempt to eat at a different restaurant than we ate before. While this is true, we do have a favorite, so if you’re looking for good tacos, go to Broken English in Lincoln Park. We also love going to Sox games, as they are a much better team than the Cubs.

What does a typical day at work look like for you?
As the Student Success Librarian, I teach students, develop content for the website, manage the library’s social media accounts, and brainstorm new ways to interact with students. In short, I try to find as many ways as possible to connect with the Trinity student population and help them succeed!

What do you do when you aren’t working?
I enjoy sewing, exercising, and charity work.

Why do you love Trinity?
I absolutely love the Trinity community. From the moment I stepped on campus, I instantly felt welcomed and part of the family. Trinity is a truly special place, full of amazing people!

What does life outside of Trinity look like for you?
Outside of Trinity, I love spending time with my family and friends. I also enjoy reading a new book, enjoying the outdoors, and anything that allows me to be creative.

What is your favorite part of Chicago?
Chicago is and will always be home.  I have so many great memories as a kid exploring the city with my family. One of my favorite places is the Lincoln Park Zoo.

The community of people and the commitment to those who work hard to make it successful drew Steven Keating to Trinity. He loves the work life balance, his co-workers and students as well as the help he is able to provide to both groups.

In his role, Keating updates the previous days payments, answers e-mail questions from students, answers phone inquiries, tracks students who need help navigating their account, aids in making sure students complete the necessary financial documents, takes in moneys from the different businesses on campus i.e. bookstore, Athletics, dining hall, etc.    Previously, he worked in the food and beverage industry which gave him the experience needed to be so successful in his role here.

When  he is not working, Keating spends time with his family.  He is an avid golfer, tennis player and gardener.  He also paints.

Why do you love Trinity?
I love Trinity because of the incredible, wonderful, kind, and supportive people from administration, faculty, and staff. Everyone is cooperatively working together in a Christ-centered community to bring the best environment to cultivate and shape student’s God-given gifts and talents to serve and make a difference in the world through the vocation they choose to pursue.

What does life outside of Trinity look like for you?
In my spare time, very often you’ll find me in the pages of a book. I have a passion for knowledge and learning new things. I immensely enjoy listening to praise and worship music, watching a good football or basketball game, and making jewelry for family and friends.

What is your favorite part of Chicago?
Chicago is such a beautiful and diverse city it’s hard to choose a favorite.  I do enjoy walking down Michigan Avenue looking at all the beautiful architecture and historical buildings and seeing all the diversity of people and culture that Chicago has to offer.
