Transfer Orientation

Welcome to Trinity!

As part of the transfer process, you will be taking a required 1- credit seminar course called Foundations 111.  This class is designed to welcome you to Trinity, explain who we are, and help guide you through your transition to Trinity’s academic culture.

This course begins on Friday, August 26, 2023 with Orientation Day and continues one day a week for the following 5 weeks.

A required Orientation Day will be on Saturday, August 26, 2023.

Fall Semester classes begin the following Monday, August 28, 2023.

The first Foundations 111 classes of the semester will be held in the first full week of the semester (you will find out your course day and time when you register for the fall). Foundations 111 runs for the first 5 weeks of the semester.

This program is a 5 week class that helps create a structured support for students for flourishing in their first semester at Trinity and beyond.

Topics covered in this 5 week class:

  • A primer on Trinity’s beliefs and cultures
  • A place to ask questions
  • A shared experience with others who are also transitioning into Trinity Christian College
  • A place to flourish and discover the joy of your vocation
  • Required for graduation from Trinity
  • Meeting a diverse group of people who are going through the same transition experience
  • Reading and writing assignments that introduce key ideas taught at Trinity including Worldview, Vocation, and Liberal Arts

We know you can’t wait to take full advantage of the academic, social, spiritual, and volunteer opportunities here on campus, across the Chicago area, and around the world. That’s why we’ve created the Office of the First Year Experience—dedicated to helping brand new Trolls transition to the College and learn about everything Trinity has to offer.

Dedicated to your first year

We are dedicated to transitioning first year students to Trinity life—so dedicated that we’ve hired just the right people to launch you into your future. The First Year Experience staff know about life at Trinity, and they are here to answer any and all questions and to be sure all students can take advantage of the many opportunities available to them.
